Last season was a bit of an adjustment for Vince Young as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles considering the former first-round pick had to adjust to life as a backup for Michael Vick–something he wasn’t used to with the Tennessee Titans. While it remains unknown at the moment where he’ll end up playing for the 2012 season, Young has given one indication of at least one team he would love to play for–the Houston Texans.

As Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com indicated on Thursday, Young was recently a guest on KILT in Houston and discussed how playing at home would be a “dream come true” for the former Texas native. Not only did Young attend the University of Texas, but he was actually born in Houston and played football for James Madison High School–so it would certainly be quite the homecoming.

Of course, the main question with this dream is whether or not the Texans would even consider bringing Young on board. It’s no surprise that Young still believes he has what it takes to be a starting quarterback in the NFL, but there’s no way he would beat Matt Schaub for the starting job.

In other words–the only way things would work out for Young in Houston is if he would be willing to settle again for the role of a backup. However, it would be ironic to see Young end up with the team that Matt Leinart was the backup for during the 2011 season considering the two former first-round picks will always be compared in the NFL after their historic battle in the Rose Bowl back in 2006.
