VID: Thierry Henry’s game winner in final Premier League game
Theirry Henry’s return to Arsenal for the backside of this Premier League season has been welcomed with open arms by the team’s loyal following who have also experienced their share of frustrations in recent years.
In his first game back with the Gunners on January 9th against Leeds in an FA Cup match, Henry scored a gorgeous goal in the 78th minute to lead Arsenal to a 1-0 victory. Many thought this might be his glory moment this season, but he wasn’t done yet.
After trailing 1-0 late in today’s Premier League match against Sunderland, Arsenal tied things up with a Ramsey goal in the 75th minute and re-claimed momentum in the match. They weren’t done just yet.
In a finish that couldn’t be written any better, Thierry Henry put home another game-winner in the 92nd minute to give Arsenal the 2-1 victory and put a seal on a wonderful career in what is likely to be his final Premier League appearance. Henry will return to the New York Red Bulls of the MLS after Arsenal’s game with Milan in the Champions League later this week.
The thrill of watching soccer is often in the drama that unfolds, and this was no exception.
Where Thierry Henry goes, drama follows.
