In reality it wasn’t Darvish having a rocky start it was the Mariners testing him and he didn’t show well early. Noesi got shelled and while he didn’t come with the flair that Darvish did he still had a lot of pressure on him to replace Michael Pineda.
There’s loads of players that come with either a high contract or high expectations so that doesn’t really cover it. The Mariners beat Darvish early, the Rangers nailed Noesi even harder thus why the Rangers won. The pressure is always there with big contracts. Pujols, Votto,Fielder,Teixeira and the list goes on and on. You get the contract because your suppose to live up to it.
