Kudos to Derrick Rose for Showing Backbone, Saying He’s Still NBA’s Best Player

Everyone has a favorite NBA player, but there is no denying that LeBron James is the best player in the league. A two-time NBA champion and four-time MVP, James is in the prime of his career and has shown no signs of slowing down. With that being said, it’s perfectly acceptable for other players to believe that they are the above the rest.

Derrick Rose is certainly someone who needs to stick up for himself and every once in a while he’s going to ruffle some feathers in the process. Earlier in the week, a CNN reporter asked the Chicago Bulls‘ point guard who he thought was the best player in the NBA. Be careful because Rose’s answer is incredibly shocking:

“Derrick Rose.”

Talking in the third person is also a vain action, yet it’s hard to be humble when considered as one of the best basketball players to ever come out of the Windy City. However, what did you honestly expect No. 1 to say? Was he supposed to kiss LeBron’s rear end like everyone else? Think of it this way: Joakim Noah just said last month “I hate the Heat” in a interview, so Rose could have definitely done worse than patting him self on the back.

This interview should spur some controversy and get everyone hyped for the moment that Rose returns to the court and faces off against the defending champions, whom everyone in Chicagoland can’t stand.
