Colin Kaepernick, Clay Matthews Make NFL Sundays Great

Colin Kaepernick and Clay Matthews are a couple of NFL superstars, so when they both lock horns the outcome is usually awesome. As expected, the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers‘ game was dominated by none other than the former defensive player of the year and upstart quarterback. Kaepernick appeared to be having his way with the Matthews-led Packers defense early on, but No. 52 wasn’t about to give in that easy.

Kaepernick still finished the game with a rather impressive stat line, but most of his success came via the pass and not the rush. Therefore, you can’t really blame Matthews for not getting the job done, when the Green Bay defensive backs had absolutely no answer for Anquan Boldin. Unfortunately, the narrow-minded fans will point to the Packers’ defensive captain and peg Matthews as someone who didn’t answer the call.

There were plenty of headlines in this game, yet none were bigger than the post-game handshake between Kaepernick and Matthews. Green Bay and San Francisco are going to be battling with one another for years, but this feud between quarterback and linebacker is just fuel onto an already hot fire.
