Jameis Winston Throws Two INTs, But Florida State Deserves No. 2 Spot In BCS

Jameis Winston wasn’t exactly “Famous Jameis” in Week 10, but the freshman quarterback made sure that the Florida State Seminoles remained atop the ACC. The Miami Hurricanes headed into Tallahassee with upset on their minds, but that just wasn’t in the cards on Saturday night. Instead, the Seminoles imposed their will on the seventh-ranked Hurricanes to the tune of 41-14.

Winston was intercepted twice early in this game, which isn’t usual for the Heisman Trophy front-runner. In fact, it was the first time in Winston’s brief collegiate career that he finished a game with more turnovers than touchdowns. So, at least Miami has something to hang its hat on.

Jimbo Fisher‘s club was rather upset about slipping to No. 3 in the Week 10 BCS Standings, but a win over the Hurricanes should all but cement the ‘Noles at No. 2 spot. Thus, the Oregon Ducks will be leapfrogged just one week after Oregon moved ahead of FSU. A decisive 27-point victory over Miami should give Florida an edge over the Ducks considering Oregon was idle this week as it prepares for a huge match-up with the Stanford Cardinal.

The BCS Standings are hardly set in stone, but the Week 11 version should undoubtedly have the Seminoles ahead of the Ducks.
