Manager, Fredi Gonzalez, of the Atlanta Braves has seemingly set up his rotation for how he wants to open the season, according to David O’Brien of the AJC. Tommy Hanson seems poised to be the opening day starter.

This is the best scenario for the Braves. With Tim Hudson beginning the season on the disabled list, Hanson is by far the best choice. Mike Minor has been the most impressive starter this spring, but Gonzalez almost certainly will not want to throw the young starter into the opening day spot.

Braves fans should enjoy that they will NOT have Derek Lowe be the opening day starter for the first time since 2008. This alone means that there should be a lot of optimism headed into 2012.
