Seton Hall Trip to Spain Results in Undefeated Success
The Star Ledger-US PRESSWIRE

The Seton Hall Pirates took their talents to Spain to compete in four games as part of their preseason play. After winning all four, the team showed dominance on both sides of the ball. Here’s a quick recap of the four games.

Seton Hall 95, C. B. Torrejon 70

Aaron Cosby was dominant, scoring 23 points and shooting five for eight from behind the arc. He also dished out seven assists, showing that he can play some point guard for the Pirates. Patrik Auda also had 19 points, which is a good sign for his development as a player. Seton Hall shot the lights out from the field (50%) and the three point line (52%). Fuquan Edwin shut down the opposition with five steals.

Seton Hall 93, C. B. Torrejon 55

In another blowout, the Pirates took down C. B. Torrejon for the second straight game. Cosby led the team again with 19 points and seven assists and Auda was once again the second fiddle with 14 points and nine rebounds. Transfer Gene Teague chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds. The big man is expected to fill the void left by Herb Pope as best as he can.

Seton Hall 70, C. B. Gran Canaria U20 61

Edwin was all over the place in this one, filling out the stat sheet with a line of 13 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals. The junior forward is expected to be the Pirates’ top player this coming season. Cosby and Freddie Wilson did a respectable jobbing of running the point, combing for 16 points and nine assists. Auda continued showing signs of improvement with 10 points and six rebounds.

Seton Hall 84, C. B. Gran Canaria U20 52

In their fourth and final game, things were more of the same for the Pirates. Another blowout happened, due to excellent defense and a full team effort. Transfer Kyle Smyth led the way with 16 points, Edwin had 14, Brandon Mobley had 11, and Teague had 11 and nine rebounds. Cosby and Wilson combined for 11 points and 11 assists, so it will be interesting to see how head coach Kevin Willard plans to use them at the point guard position. All in all, it was an encouraging showing for the Hall and something that should help them come November.
