NFL Preview 2012: Looking at the AFC East

With the 2012 NFL season right around the corner, Rant Sports decided to breakdown the AFC East in their NFL preview 2012.

Which player will be the MVP of the AFC East?

As long as he stays healthy–Tom Brady of the New England Patriots will be the MVP of the division this year. A future Hall of Famer and one of the most competitive players in the NFL, Brady will do whatever it takes to make sure the Patriots finish on top of the division in 2012.

Which new acquisition within the division will make the biggest impact for their new team?

The Buffalo Bills received a major upgrade on defense when they signed Mario Williams away from the Houston Texans. The former No. 1 pick should have an immediate impact on the Bills’ defense and cause all sorts of problems for opposing quarterbacks.

Who’s your AFC East rookie of the year?

Dont’a Hightower has been a stud during the preseason and there are high expectations for him to have an immediate impact on the Patriots’ defense as a rookie. Expect him to fullfil them in 2012.

The Patriots have won the division in each of the last three seasons. Can they make it 4 in a row?

With the way the AFC East has shaped up over the last couple of years, New England is the obvious favorite heading into the 2012 season. The Bills or New York Jets may give them a scare at times during the regular season, but the Patriots should have no problem winning their fourth-straight division title.
