Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo and Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins, close friends, have been discussing the possibility of playing together overseas, and have had representatives inquiring on the possibilities, sources said.

Rondo and Perkins are interested in playing in higher-paying countries, such as Italy, Spain and Russia, sources said. There’s no deal in the works, and it’s unclear if there’s even a team that could financially put together the kind of contracts it would take to lure the players.

Insurance premiums cut significantly into the money that teams are willing to pay frontline NBA starters, and in some instances, the difference left in pay won’t make the leap overseas worth making for some players.

According to reports on Yahoo, Rajon Rondo and best friend Kendrick Perkins are looking to play together again. This time instead of donning the green, they want to play in Spain, Russia, or Italy. However, I am just not seeing this happening. According to this report, the players pay their insurance premiums. This is bad news for the paycheck. It makes it not worth the risk especially to young guys like Rondo and Perkins. However, it is nice to dream and I hope someday these best buds make a return to the same team. However, this just seems like another bunch of players making a union move for leverage. The union needs guys to be vocal about another option. Pierce has already done it and now it his teammate Rondo’s turn. I just hope this deal gets done soon, I need some NBA basketball. Remember Go Green or Go Home!!!!!!!!!!!
