Boston Red Sox Still Have Interest In Gavin Floyd

Boston Red Sox Still Have Interest In Gavin Floyd

As first reported by FoxSports.com’s Jon Paul Morosi, the Boston Red Sox are still interested in trading for Chicago White Sox RHP Gavin Floyd who the Red Sox have had discussions about with Chicago during the Winter Meetings in December along with John Danks.

Floyd is set to earn $7.5 million this season as the White Sox are still listening to offers for the 28-year old. His contract also includes a $9.5 million club option for 2013.

There are still a few quality starters on the free agent market so the White Sox could be obliged to send Floyd for a package of quality prospects. We’ll see what the White Sox do in the coming days.
