The Brooklyn Nets are among the few teams interested in free agent forward Eduardo Najera. Najera is now fully recovered from a fractured forehead frontal bone. The Nets will have to try to lure Najera away from the Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves.

For the past two years, Najera had been playing for the lowly Charlotte Bobcats. In those two seasons, Najera averaged 2.4 points per game and 1.8 rebounds per game barely playing 12 minutes per game for the Bobcats during those two seasons. Najera was a former Nets forward from 2008-2010 before being traded to the Dallas Mavericks for Kris Humphries and Shawne Williams.

Najera averaged about three points per game for the Nets during his time with the team.

Najera has spent 11 seasons in the NBA since being drafted by the Mavericks in 2000 from Oklahoma. In those 11 seasons, Najera’s most productive year was 2002-03 when he averaged 6.7 points per game for the Mavs.

The Nets will try to sign Najera for depth on their bench after becoming huge players in free agency during the summer. The Nets re-signed Deron Williams, Brooks Lopez and Humphries as well as acquiring Joe Johnson from the Atlanta Hawks for basically all of their bench.

The way it is looking this season, the Nets are going to be huge players in the Eastern Conference and have a slight chance to dethrone the Miami Heat as conference champions. Well, maybe we won’t go THAT far ahead but if the Nets keep focus, they will be huge factors in the 2012-13 season.
