Apparently, Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis has been quite the headache for the team to deal with this season–so much that members of the team even held an intervention four the fourth-year running back earlier this week. The former Arkansas star has expressed interest in a long-term deal for months from the organization after a breakout season in 2010 but unfortunately–that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen for Hillis.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of The Plain Dealer, the Browns are ready to let Hillis go after the 2011 season and become a free agent. After rushing for 1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2010, this season has been nothing but frustration for Hillis as he’s managed just 211 yards on the ground and two touchdowns in four games while dealing with a hamstring injury–which he re-aggravated on Friday–for most of the season.

Whether it’s the Madden Curse or the fact that he was just a one-hit wonder, Hillis has every reason in the world to be frustrated about how this season has gone so far and the news about the Browns being ready to move on just makes it even worse for the running back. Who knows, maybe this is the type of motivation Hillis needs to finally turn his season around–but it’s doubtful.
