2012 NFL Free Agency: Video Surfaces of Peyton Manning Throwing Passes at Duke University
Derick E. Hingle-US PRESSWIRE

A video has surfaced on Youtube of what appears to be Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning in full pads throwing passes at Duke University this past Friday, March 2.

The video is brief, but you can make out four throws from a guy who looks mechanically an awful lot like Manning, including a 40-yard bomb that shows a lot of that arm strength that Manning is trying to build back up.

Manning will be cut by the Colts in a matter of days, if the decision hasn’t already been made for that matter, and then the 36-year-old future Hall of Famer will be an unrestricted free agent and will have plenty of suitors.

As much as I respect him and as much of a Peyton Manning fan as I am, I would prefer that my New York Jets pass on him, although I admit I’m intrigued to see how much arm strength appears to have come back for him.

Of course, throwing passes on a practice field with no defenders coming at you is a far cry from NFL game action, and Manning still has a lot to prove.

But would you bet against him? I certainly wouldn’t. As a football fan, I would like nothing more than to see one of the great quarterbacks of all-time make this comeback and return to the NFL, wherever he ends up.
