The Atlanta Hawks maybe down but they are certainly not out of this series against the Boston Cetlics even though the Celtics have the advantage of being up 2-1 in the series with Game 4 to come Sunday. The Hawks received good news Saturday as the team learned that they will have forward Josh Smith for Sunday’s game.

Smith told CSNNE.com’s A. Sherrod Blakely that his left knee still bothers him but it will not prevent him from playing Sunday:

“It’s still a little pain in there, but I understand the importance of this game,” Smith told CSNNE.com. “You can’t play injured, but you can play a little hurt.”

Smith could definitely help out the Hawks who had a depleted front court in Game 3′s overtime loss to the Celtics. Jeff Teague and Joe Johnson could definitely benefit from Smith’s presence during the game and if they get another quality performance from Tracy McGrady, the Hawks could possibly tie the series Sunday.

A Hawks win Sunday will not only tie the series but possibly give the Hawks a huge momentum swing as the series would head back to the Highlight Factory in Atlanta.

Whatever Smith has in the tank for Sunday’s game will certainly help even though he will definitely not be 100 percent at all since Smith did not practice Saturday. Smith will have to put his pain management to the test if the Hawks have any type of chance of winning against a fully loaded Celtics squad.
