Steve Nash: Will He Join The New York Knicks Next Season?
Mark J. Rebilas-US PRESSWIRE

The New York Knicks had a roller coaster season going through the “Melodrama” to “Linsanity” and then to the firing of Mike D’Antoni and the rise of head coach Mike Woodson and the crazy situation the playoffs brought with Amar’e Stoudemire throwing punches at a fire extinguisher. The offseason will definitely have some more drama with the Knicks looking into free agency.

The one thing the Knicks may have to address is the point guard situation. Baron Davis is likely to miss the entire 2012-13 rehabbing from torn ACL and MCL injuries he suffered in Game 4 against the Miami Heat. Jeremy Lin is now considered to be injury-prone and he might need some kind of supplement for his guard play.

There may be one player that could benefit Lin in the long run.

Current Phoenix Suns point guard Steve Nash could be heading on the free agent market this season. Nash is going to be offered a two-year, $20 million deal from the Suns but may head to the free agent market to get more money. The Knicks could be the team to offer Nash some money to play that point guard although Nash is 38-years-old.

Stoudemire said he would love to have Nash play for the Knicks. “Everyone knows that Steve loves New York and that New York loves Steve,” Stoudemire said. “I love Steve. It would be great to have him here next year.”

With the team planning on bringing back Lin, who knows if Nash will be able to fit in with the Woodson offense. It would be a nice though, but who knows what the plan is for the Knicks?
