The Dallas Cowboys do not and will not have interest in signing “retired” receiver Randy Moss. Contrary to rumors floating that Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones had contacted Moss, multiple sources confirmed Monday Dallas has no interest in bringing in the troubled receiver.

Moss may be extremely talented, but his off-field baggage is too much for a transitioning team like the Cowboys to take on. That experiment has come and gone in Dallas with Terrell Owens. Moss indeed has interest in playing for the Cowboys, but the team has made it clear he will not be offered a contract.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Moss has a wish list of teams to play for, including his former team, the New England Patriots, the New York Giants, New York Jets, Chicago Bears and Dallas. The Jets and Patriots have both been rumored to have been in contact with Moss recently, but that information could not be confirmed.

Mild speculation of Moss joining Dallas arose when both Cowboys starting receivers Dez Bryant and Miles Austin went down with injuries in Weeks 1 and 2. Dallas passed on Moss in the 1998 NFL draft and it was confirmed Monday the Cowboys wisely will do so again now.
