Top Ten Fantasy NASCAR Drivers for the Daytona 500
Andrew Weber-US PRESSWIRE

By Adam McGill

The Daytona 500 has always been the most anticipated race of the entire season.  It draws the
biggest audience, and thus the biggest expectations.  Fantasy junkies have had many sleepless hours debating which driver to grab for the big race. Below are my top ten fantasy NASCAR drivers for the race at Daytona International Speedway:

1. Tony Stewart – Stewart will start Monday’s race in third but is the heavy favorite to finish in first.

2. Carl Edwards – Edwards will be  sitting on the pole when the track finally dries at high noon.

3. Jimmie Johnson – “Double J” has not won the race since 2006, but the veteran seems to be due at Daytona.

4. Matt Kenseth – Kenseth is a veteran driver who grabs a couple checkered flags each year.

5. Greg Biffle – “Biff” averaged 194.087 MPH in his qualifying Duel and the 42-year old knows the track better than anyone.

6. Dale Earnharhadt Jr. – “Junior” has a Daytona win under his serpentine belt and will be starting in the third row.

7. Jeff Gordon – Gordon is a three-time Daytona 500 champion and thrives at the DIS.

8.  Kyle Busch – Busch captured the flag last weekend, but has a tough road ahead of him trying to make his way from fourteenth.

9. Elliott Sadler – The # 19 car is in great shape right now, giving Sadler a respectable shot to win  Monday.

10. Brad Keselowski – Keselowski had 14 top-ten finishes last year and is still a great guy to grab this week; despite starting the race at 23rd.
