One player that was widely disregarded in fantasy baseball drafts this spring was veteran first baseman Adrian Gonzalez of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Gonzo wasn’t ranked within the top-10 fantasy first basemen in any rankings this off-season and he was normally sitting around 11 or 13 on most lists.

Through the first 14 games of the 2014 season, Gonzalez has been tearing the cover off the ball. The slugger currently has five home runs and five double in 14 games on the year. He has shockingly racked up 14 RBIs already, including four homers and 11 RBIs in the last five games alone.

Gonzo has an impressive .273/.339/.639/.975 slash line as well. The California native is seeing the ball very well right now. He is sitting back on the fastballs and driving the ball to both sides of the field.

Gonzalez has been a rock throughout his fantasy career. He has played in 155 or more games in eight straight seasons. He will be in the lineup each and every night, which is absolutely immeasurable for fantasy owners.

Gonzo will be a reliable weekly starter in all fantasy formats moving forward. He seems primed to have another All-Star campaign and the veteran should have no problem hitting another 25-plus homers in 2014.

Don’t expect Gonzo to slow down anytime soon, because he is about to have a monster fantasy season.
