Building the Perfect NBA FanDuel Lineup for Jan. 24

Building the Perfect NBA FanDuel Lineup for Jan. 24

Compared to last night's slate of 11 games, tonight's schedule of five pales in comparison. This means that there are fewer ways to build the perfect lineup, but it's not impossible. Additionally, there is no game with an over-under of 200 or more tonight, so there's the potential for low-scoring games which will limit overall production. With that being said, let's get to work putting together the perfect NBA FanDuel lineup for Jan. 24.

Despite the fact that the Washington Wizards are ranked seventh in defensive efficiency against PGs, I am not shying away from taking Damian Lillard tonight. With LaMarcus Aldridge being out for the next 6-8 weeks, Lillard will take on even more of the offensive load. Over his past five games, he has averaged 37.8 fantasy points and I feel that he will drop 40-plus tonight. It won't be easy, but he'll make it happen.

(PG) Brandon Jennings - Detroit Pistons - $8,300

In his career facing Brandon Knight, Brandon Jennings has averaged 37.1 fantasy points and has a great opportunity to continue his success against him tonight. Over his last five games, Jennings has averaged 31.8 fantasy points and needs to score 41.5 to justify his price tonight. In what should be a nice back and forth "Battle of the Brandons," I feel that Jennings will score at least 34 with 40-plus upside.

(SG) Bradley Beal - Washington Wizards - $6,200

Beal's performances have been up and down lately as he's been averaging 25.5 fantasy points over his past five games. However, I like his chances to flirt with a 30-plus performance tonight against a Portland Trail Blazers team that's ranked 11th in defensive efficiency against SGs. His current trend has him performing better on the road and that's his situation tonight. Therefore, even with a challenging opponent, he will score at least 28.

(SG) Joe Johnson - Brooklyn Nets - $6,300

Over his past four games, this former Arkansas Razorback has averaged 26.3 fantasy points and needs to score 31.5 in order to justify his price. Tonight, he faces the Utah Jazz who are ranked 25th in defensive efficiency against SGs. This is lining up to be one of those nights where Joe Johnson goes off for 30-plus fantasy points and I feel that he will score no less than 27.

(SF) Jeff Green - Memphis Grizzlies - $5,400

The last time I recommended Jeff Green, he disappointed us all with a 10.9-fantasy-point performance against the Toronto Raptors. However, I'm willing to forgive him for that dud and roster him tonight against the Philadelphia 76ers and their terrible defense against SFs that's currently ranked 25th. While he does have 30-plus upside in this matchup, the game will most likely be a blowout. Therefore, I like Green to score around 27 tonight.

(SF) Khris Middleton - Milwaukee Bucks - $5,100

Khris Middleton's performances have been down for his last two games as he has averaged 15.9 fantasy points. This is a sharp decline from the 29.4 that he was averaging in the previous four games. However, he gets to face a Detroit Pistons team ranked 18th against opposing SFs and I like Middleton's chances to score the 25.5 fantasy points that he needs to make value. At worst, he will score 22.

(PF) Greg Monroe - Detroit Pistons - $8,400

Greg Monroe is one of my favorite plays tonight and the fact that the Milwaukee Bucks are ranked 11th against opposing PFs doesn't scare me off. Over their last three contests, the Bucks have actually been ranked 28th in defensive efficiency against PFs and "Moose" should be able to take full advantage of that and score at least 33 fantasy points tonight. However, my expectations are a bit higher and I'm predicting a 40-plus night for him.

(PF) Nene Hilario - Washington Wizards - $5,700

Over his past three games, Nene Hilario has averaged 31.6 fantasy points and he needs to score 28.5 in order to justify his price. I love his chances to at least make value tonight against a LaMarcus Aldridge-less Portland Trail Blazers team. Before he ends up suffering his next injury, I figured it'd be wise to get him in the lineup tonight with an advantageous scenario. He should score at least 26 and may eclipse 30 tonight.

The Detroit Pistons tend to have issues defending centers at time and that's proven by their current rank of 28th in that guard. Therefore, tonight is looking like a good night to roster Zaza Pachulia since he's been playing pretty well lately. Over his last six games, he's averaged 25.8 fantasy points and has a great chance to eclipse 30 tonight. However, I will temper my expectations and say that he will score between 24 and 28.
