Mark Jackson played 17 seasons as a point guard in the NBA. He was drafted by the New York Knicks, and won NBA Rookie of the Year in 1988. Jackson had two tenures with the Indiana Pacers from 1994-2000, helping the team to four Eastern Conference Finals and one NBA Finals appearance. He was briefly traded from Indiana to the Denver Nuggets in 1996, but returned to the Pacers in 1997. Jackson still received a warm welcome from Pacers fans late in his career, even after he returned to the Knicks in 2001. Mark Jackson is currently ranked 13th in NBA games played all-time, and is ranked 3rd on the all-time assists list.

Jackson will make his return to Indiana on Tuesday night, this time, as head coach of the Golden State Warriors. At the midway point of his first season as a head coach, the Warriors currently have a record of 13-17. The Warriors are 12th in the Western Conference standings, but only three games behind in the playoff hunt. The Pacers and the Warriors played at Golden State on January 20th, with Indiana taking home a 94-91 road victory.

Tuesday night will be the first time Mark Jackson brings his team to Indiana as a head coach. Even as competition for the home team, Jackson will surely get a round of applause from the fans at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, who will always appreciate the part he played for some of the most successful Pacers teams ever.
