Wisconsin High School Football State Champion Predictions Div. 1-4
Kyle Terada-US PRESSWIRE

In my last post you may recall that I predicted who I think will be this years Wisconsin High School football state champions for divisions 5-7. This post I finish up by giving you who I think will be the winner’s for the division 1,2,3 and 4 football state championships. Let’s not waste any time, on with the bold predictions!

DIVISION 4- There are a few teams here, four to be exact, that I think could come away with the trophy. Defending champion Wrightstown Tigers are a very solid football team and they look poised as ever for a repeat. One team standing in their way are the Roncalli Jets. It just so happens the two teams square off in a huge early season conference showdown tomorrow. Two other teams I am looking at coincidentally are also two conference foes, the Somerset Spartans and the Durand Panthers. Those two teams will meet the second to last week of the season in what should be a great late season conference match-up. But my pick for the Division 4 state title goes to the Wrightstown Tigers. Even if Roncalli does go on to beat Wrightstown tomorrow night, I still see the Tigers winding up with the state trophy.

DIVISION 3- These picks get tougher as we go along and this division is no exception. I have had my eye on the Pewaukee Pirates and Wisconsin Badgers commit T.J. Watt. The Pirates are a team who could sneak up on some people and make a deep run into the playoffs and could possibly make it to Camp Randall Stadium. I think it could come down to a rematch of last years state finals between the defending champion West De Pere Phantoms and the Wisconsin Lutheran Vikings. Either team can easily win the championship as long as they stay healthy and focused, but I am going to with the hungry and determined Vikings who would like nothing more to erase last years defeat with a championship.

DIVISION 2- This division was slightly easier to pick for me. I am high on the defending champs Waunakee Warriors this year as they try and make history with their undefeated record and another state championship. Look for the Brookfield East Spartans and the Brookfield Central Lancers to have a say in the discussion before it’s all said and done. The Monona Grove Silver Eagles are also a team who I think could very well knock off Waunakee. But when the dust settles and the smoke clears, I’m still going with the Warriors to repeat as champions.

DIVISION 1- Both schools from last years finals, the Kenosha Bradford Red Devils (0-2) and the Wisconsin Rapids-Lincoln Red Raiders (1-1) are not off to great starts. That leaves the door wide open for teams in this division. Teams like the Arrowhead Warhawks and the Sun Prairie Cardinals  are high on people’s radars across the state. Don’t sleep on the Homestead Highlanders or the Stevens Point Panthers as those two teams are both underrated football teams. I believe though that the Warhawks will go starting their season on ESPN3 to ending it with the Division 1 state title.

So there you have it, the final part of my predictions for the 2012 football state championships. Agree or disagree with me, let me know by commenting. I’m always open to a nice, friendly discussion.
