This one hurt.  In their first game after the All Star Break, the Minnesota Wild gave the Nashville Predators two points in a 5-4 loss on Tuesday night in St. Paul.  Up 4-1 with just 10:38 left in the 3rd period, nobody would’ve thought it possible for Minnesota to lose, especially in regulation.  However, that’s exactly what happened, as Nashville’s Patric Hornqvist (1) and Mike Fisher (2) scored the final three of four unanswered 3rd period goals to stun the Xcel Energy Center.

Minnesota was trying to re-right the ship and get back involved in the playoff race after having struggled recently.  Now having won just 4 of their last 20 games, the Wild currently sits in eighth place in the Western Conference.

Having its foot on the neck of arguably the NHL’s hottest team, this was a great chance to not only pick up some points, but to gain some momentum and confidence.  Now, the team will have to find a way to shrug this one off and focus on getting the next two available points against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night.  Minnesota will have to bring the offensive guns again, as the Avs are just one point behind them in the Western Conference Standings.  Hopefully, the they will play all 60 minutes this time.
