Tonight, in Brazil, the UFC featured a highly anticipated middleweight bout between Cezar Ferreira and Daniel Sarafian. Both were looking to prove who the best fighter was from the TUF Brazil season. It was an exciting war from start to finish. Ferreira was able to stay on the outside, landing kicks and would pressure Sarafian up against the cage.

Ferreira scored a takedown in the second, which proved to be pivotal, as he was able to control Sarafian for the majority of the round. He would get another in the third, and at the end of the day, the judges sided the bout in favor for Ferreira. This was a pivotal victory for Ferreira, as he was fighting in his home country. He showcased some great strikes tonight, and his grappling was on point for all three rounds.

Sarafian put up a valiant effort, but he was simply out-sized in this bout. He may want to think about cutting down to welterweight, because guys are just too big at middleweight. For Ferreira, he increases his stock in the middleweight division, and if he can continue to progress and harness his striking and grappling, he could very well make some waves at middleweight, where Chris Weidman is the current champion.
