Stock Up

Case Keenum Quarterback Houston Senior Redshirt Now a 3rd Round Pick Previously a 4th Round Pick I think Keenum is a 3rd stringer at best.  Still he threw 9 touchdowns this week becoming the NCAA all time leader in passing yards and passing touchdowns.  I am going to have Keenum graded out as a 3rd round pick now.  I considered moving him up to round 2, but that is crazy on my end at this point when there is so much more to see from Keenum.  Keenum isn’t in the same league as Ryan Tannehill.

I would not draft Keenum until round 4 at the earliest, but I get the feeling he gets pushed up way too high like Kolb did.  There is always a quarterback who gets pushed up much higher than they should go.

Case Keenum was at Houston for six years age is a concern plus he got injured last season, but Keenum performs like a 2nd round talent that could fall to the 3rd round when healthy.

A while back on College Football Live and they compared his quick release to Brett Favre’s.  Anytime your quick release is in the discussion with Favre your doing something right.

Andy Dalton and Colin Kaepernick got pushed up boards before eventually becoming 2nd round picks.  I could see Case Keenum experiencing a similar fate if he keeps playing this well.  Its premature to label Keenum a 2nd round quarterback and a top 5 quarterback in 2012 even though I could see him being the 5th quarterback taken if he keeps playing this well.

Zebrie Sanders Right Tackle Florida State Senior Now a 5th Round Pick Previously a 7th Round Pick Sanders is the Seminoles right tackle.  I have him graded out as a 7th round pick, but some people have moved him up to the 3rd round of their mocks.

Left Tackle Andrew Datko was a 1st round pick before his injury which has prompted me to drop him to the 5th round.  I am going to put both Datko and Sanders in the 5th Round.

Nigel Bradham Right Outside Linebaker Florida State Senior Now a 2nd Round Pick Previously a 4th Round Pick Nigel Bradham can play a WILL, MIKE, or SAM role in a 4-3 defense.  Bradham looks like a player who’s stock is soaring.

Jerry Franklin 3-4 Middle Linebacker Arkansas Senior Redshirt Now a 2nd Round Pick Previously a 3rd Round Pick Jerry Franklin is very versatile he can be used as a 3-4 middle linebacker or a 3-4 outside linebacker.

Landry Jones Quarterback Oklahoma Junior Redshirt Now a Top 10 Pick Previously a 1st Round Pick If I have to bet on Andrew Luck, Matt Barkley, Robert Griffin III, or Landry Jones being a major NFL bust my money would be on Landry Jones.

Jones is overrated because he has thrown 9 interceptions in 8 games and has never thrown below double digit interceptions.  Jones threw 14 picks as a freshman redshirt, he threw 12 as a sophomore redshirt, and has 9 now through 8 games as a junior redshirt.

Still, Jones had 505 passing yards and 5 passing touchdowns despite throwing 2 interceptions you cannot ignore that.

Even though Landry Jones will get drafted ahead of Robert Griffin III I still believe that Griffin has the better career.

Justin Blackmon Wide Receiver Oklahoma State Junior Redshirt Now a Top 5 Pick Previously a 1st Round Pick Blackmon was clutch with 13 receptions, 172 receiving yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns.  Blackmon left last weeks Oklahoma State with an injury.  After leaving that game and responding so strongly he has to be considered a potential Top 5 Pick

Luke Kuechly Middle Linebacker Boston College Junior Now a Top 10 Pick Previously a 1st Round Pick Kuechly has recorded 100 or more tackles in 3 consecutive seasons.  Kuechly could rival Burfict as a candidate to be a top 10 pick.  The way things look right now Vontaze Burfict of Arizona State and Luke Kuechly of Boston College will battle it out to be the top middle linebacker taken this April.

Brock Osweiler Quarterback Arizona State Junior Now a 3rd Round Pick Previously a 4th Round PIck Osweiler is 6 foot 9 240 pounds.  His strong performance for the Sun Devils has me believing that he could be the first quarterback to come off the board if he declares.  After today’s performance Osweiler is my 6th best quarterback in the 2012 NFL Draft assuming he and the rest of the underclassmen declare.

Chris Polk Running Back Washington Junior Redshirt Now a Top 10 Pick Previously a 1st Round Pick Chris Polk dominated against Arizona.  Polk has little supporting cast at Washington on the offensive line.  Polk had 34 carries, 144 rushing yards, and 4 rushing touchdowns.  Polk had 4 receptions for 100 receiving yards, and a receiving touchdowns.  Polk weighs 6 foot 222 pounds and some former Washington teammates claim they have seen Polk run a 4.3 40 time.  Polk had over 1,100 rushing yards as a freshman and sophomore redshirt.

Cody Endres Quarterback Slippery Rock Senior Redshirt Now a 5th Round Pick Previously a 7th Round Pick There are 2 quarterbacks who got consideration as a 5th round prospect.  Those players are Slippery Rock’s Cody Endre’s and Yale’s Patrick Witt.  Witt went 2 for 10 with 16 passing yards, 0 touchdowns, and 1 pick against Columbia.  The Rock is 7-1 on the year and Endres has 15 touchdowns and 12 picks in 2011 after being a backup at Connecticut and an elite 11 quarterback in high school.

Endres will get selected in the same draft range as Brandon Fusco if I had to project his draft status at this point.

 Stock Down

Ray Graham Running Back Pittsburgh Junior Now a 4th Round Pick Previously a 3rd Round Pick Graham suffered a season ending injury.  This could affect his stock.

Lamar Miller Running Back Miami FL Sophomore Redshirt Now a 2nd Round Pick Previously a 1st Round Pick Lamar Miller had 16 carries for 70 rushing yards against Virginia.  Miller is not a first round prospect like some make him out to be.

Kirk Cousins Quarterback Michigan State Senior Redshirt Now a 3rd Round Pick Previously a 2nd Round Pick Cousins has struggled against a Nebraska secondary that will feature 2 future first round picks at cornerback with Dennard and Ciante Evans.  Just imagine how bad it would be if the Prince Amukamara was still on the Huskers.

This Nebraska secondary is only a pretest of what Cousins could end up facing on Sunday’s.

Jeff Fuller Wide Receiver Texas A&M Senior Now a 4th Round Pick Previously a 3rd Round Pick Fuller had another bad outing with 5 receptions for 42 receiving yards.  Fuller once a day 1 pick now looks like a player who could fall to round 3.

Cliff Harris Cornerback Oregon Junior Now a 3rd Round Pick Previously a 1st Round Pick Cliff Harris will likely declare this year.  Some of his off the field issues cause him to fall to round 3.

Robert Griffin III Quarterback Baylor Junior Redshirt Now a 1st Round Pick Previously a Top 10 Pick Robert Griffin III struggled in the first half of this contest.  He picked things up in the 4th quarter, but the score was 49 to 3 after 3 quarters.  Robert Griffin III will be the 4th quarterback drafted assuming he comes out and declares for the 2012 NFL Draft.

I still believe Griffin will have the better career than Landry Jones.  Today was a poor outing by Griffin and there has been no rapid improvement that stands out when it comes to Landry Jones.

Dontari Poe Nose Tackle Memphis Junior Now a 2nd Round Pick Previously a 1st Round Pick Poe and the Tigers run defense struggled in this game.  Central Florida delivered a shutout and now Poe is an early 2nd round pick.

Jerel Worthy Defensive Tackle Michigan State Junior Redshirt Now a 2nd Round Pick Previously a 1st Round Pick Jerel Worthy struggled to stop the run against Nebraska.  Worthy lacks the versatility of an NFL defensive tackle.

Rex Burkhead ran wild on the Spartans defense with 35 carries for 130 rushing yards.

Ricky Wagner Left Tackle Wisconsin Junior Redshirt Now a 2nd Round Pick Previously a Top 10 Pick Ricky Wagner took himself out of first round consideration with his poor performance for Wisconsin the last 2 weeks.

Edwin Baker Running Back Michigan State Junior Now a 5th Round Pick Previously a 3rd Round Pick Edwin Baker has not ceased many key chances as the Spartans primary back.  Baker looks like a 5th round talent at this point.
