Oklahoma City Thunder’s Pain Could Be Phoenix Suns Gain
Well, the Oklahoma City Thunder sure got bad in a hurry, and by the time Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook return from injuries, the Thunder could be in a deep hole.
But the Thunder’s pain could be the Phoenix Suns‘ gain. The Suns were on the cusp of a playoff berth a season ago, but fell one game short of the playoffs. But this year, with a deep and talented roster, the Suns could see the Thunder’s misfortunes as an opportunity to make their move.
The Suns has all the makings of a team that could surprise a few teams. Isaiah Thomas has been so far been an offensive firecracker for the Suns, and his dynamic scoring has made the Suns’ already deadly offensive assault that much more potent.
And let’s not forget about Phoenix’s dynamic backcourt of Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic, two players who can burn opponents from the outside and blow by opposing guards. The Suns’ backcourt is among the NBA‘s best, and is the motor for the Suns’ high-octane assault.
As we downgrade the Thunder’s chances of being a contender in the West this season, it’s time that we appoint the Suns as the team that will replace Oklahoma City as the team that can throw a wrench into the Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio Spurs‘ plans to tear through the West.
The West needs to stop sleeping on the Suns, because they could find themselves burnt.
