Trevor Lacey Is A Huge Addition For North Carolina State Wolfpack

The North Carolina State Wolfpack will be losing all five of their starters for the 2013-14 college basketball season. With that said, they definitely needed some help in any shape, form or size. Well, Trevor Lacey transferring to the team is a huge addition to say the least.

I thought Lacey should have stayed with the Alabama Crimson Tide, but he probably had a good reason for leaving the program. He may not help lead the Wolfpack to an ACC title on his own, but he will instantly be one of the best players on the team, if not the best player.

Lacey averaged 11.3 points per game, 3.8 rebounds per game and 3.2 assists per game last season. He shot 39.2 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from behind the arc.

He will have to sit out this next year, but still, he will make a big impact the moment he takes the court for North Carolina State. This will clearly not help out NC State immediately, but it gives fans a sense of hope and could lure great recruits to the team.

The ACC is absolutely stacked with great teams, with Louisville, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame joining the conference.

The Wolfpack will likely see a year where they are nowhere near the top of the standings in the conference, but at least Lacey will be able to take the court in a year and help get this team back into the NCAA tournament. Who knows if they will make the dance in the upcoming season, but with so many great players leaving, I cannot see that happening.

Still, Lacey joining the team is big news for this team and Wolfpack fans should be excited for the future of this program.
