Wisconsin Badgers Need To Learn How To Finish In Upcoming Season

Wisconsin Badgers

The Wisconsin Badgers were great during the regular season last year, but they did not do so hot when it counted most. So they will need to learn how to finish in the 2013-14 college basketball season.

Although it is probably heartbreaking losing the championship game in the Big Ten tournament, the Badgers still should of had some momentum going into the 2013 NCAA Tournament. Instead, they lost to the Ole Miss Rebels in their first tourney game.

It is important to note that Wisconsin did not even score 100 points in its last two games combined. It scored 43 against Ohio State and 46 against Ole Miss. Both were losses as I am sure you could have guessed.

Wisconsin won 23 games last season and had a solid record of 12-6 in the Big Ten. That was good enough to earn the team a No. 5 seed.

However, none of that matters if a team cannot survive and move on to the next round.

The Badgers will be losing some talent, but they should challenge for a conference title once again. However, this time around they need to actually finish when it comes to postseason play. Having a great season and then losing the first game of the NCAA tournament is not the ideal situation to be in.

So, after Wisconsin has a great season and possibly wins the Big Ten, it has to not take its opponent lightly in the dance and it has to beat it. Making the Final Four would be awesome, but the Badgers should take one game at a time and at least make sure that they make it to the round of 32 first.
