Nebraska’s secondary received some good news this Christmas break, as a top junior college cornerback has officially committed to join the Huskers for the upcoming season. After the departures of Prince Amukamara and now Alfonzo Dennard, Nebraska’s secondary had a few question marks. This should help clear those up.

Mohammed Seisay is a 6’2″ and 200 pounds, Seisay has good size for the cornerback position. And unlike most of the Huskers secondary, Seisay has two years of junior college football under his belt.

Is Seisay the real deal? Remember Armando Murillo and Zachary Bowman, two Huskers who both played this past decade? According to Eastern Arizona coach John O’Mera, Seisay, at this point (coming out of juco to Nebraska) is better than both.

Bowman, as you may recall, currently plays for the Chicago Bears in the NFL. With hard work, there’s no doubt that Mohammed can do that and much more.

Good news for Husker fans is that Seisay will not back down on his commitment. Since the University of Nebraska-Lincoln started school on Monday, he was registered and in class ready to go. More good news is included in this because that means Seisay can participate in Spring practice, which not only give him quite a few extra practices and more time to learn the playbook, but also increase the level of competition heading into fall camp.

Andrew Green, Stanley Jean-Baptiste, Ciante Evans and others are going to have to bring it and step up their game. Competition is going to fierce this fall. But the games are going to be what matters. Nebraska has to step up and the secondary better play better than this past seasons. Losses to teams like Northwestern will not be tolerated.
