The St. Louis Rams almost pulled off a miraculous comeback in Week 5 of the NFL season, only to fall a little short to the Philadelphia Eagles. They now head into Week 6 against the surging San Francisco 49ers on Monday night, and will try to avoid falling to 1-4 on the season.
The Rams have played better than their record indicates, as they almost pulled out wins against Philadelphia, as well as the Dallas Cowboys. Nevertheless, they still have only one win on the year, and need to figure out a way to pull these games out if they do not want to be competing for the first overall pick yet again. A matchup against a division rival may not be the best team to try and start building a winning streak. However, if Austin Davis is able to build off his solid performance from Week 5, the Rams should be able to hang with San Francisco. Confidence means a ton, and the more comfortable Davis feels, the more comfortable he will continue to get; which in turn, should open up the entire offense.
After starting 1-2, the 49ers have now won two straight games, and are clearly starting to play better. They will have a great opportunity to get to 4-2, and show the NFC West that they are not going anyway. Colin Kaepernick needs to cut down on his mistakes, but if he is able to do so, San Francisco will be in solid shape.
Final Prediction: There are just far too many question marks surrounding the Rams, and as a result San Francisco wins this game, 26-17.
