After an impressive rookie head coaching campaign in 2013, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is once again off to a hot start as his team looks to build off of their 5-2 start in 2014.

Even though the Eagles are coming off a tough loss on the road to the Arizona Cardinals, you have to admit Kelly continues to do wonders with his offense despite the fact that starting quarterback Nick Foles has dropped off and DeSean Jackson is now playing for the rival Washington Redskins.

I can’t imagine what the Eagles’ offense would look like with Jackson on their roster, but Kelly has done a great job with having Foles spread the ball out to tight end Zach Ertz, rookie wide receiver Jordan Mathews, Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin. Not to mention, he has two great running backs who can catch the ball out of the back field and terrorize opposing defenses in Darren Sproles and LeSean McCoy.

Despite the fact that Maclin is coming off of ACL surgery, he’s on pace for over 1,700 yards receiving, which is phenomenal. To this day, doctors still believe it takes over a year for someone’s knee to get  back to 100 percent after rehabbing from such serious injury.

I believe the biggest challenge for Kelly as the Eagles approach the second half of the season is helping Foles limit his interceptions after already throwing nine in seven games.

At the end of the day, when I sit back and look at the Eagles’ roster,  it obvious that Kelly knows how to get the most he can out of every single player on his team. The good news for Philly is that despite losing this past week, they’re still in a prime position to win their second-straight NFC East championship.
