The Carolina Panthers came into Philadelphia on Monday night and were manhandled. There are numerous reasons the Panthers had a hard time. Here are my five takeaways for Monday night's blowout loss to the Eagles.

A fumble by DeAngelo Williams and an interception by Cam Newton during the Panthers’ first two drives really hurt the them and never let them get anything going on offense.

I'm not sure why Carolina punter Brad Nortman decided to kick the ball to Darren Sproles because he had no problem returning one for a touchdown that killed any momentum the Panthers had left early on.

Without defensive end Greg Hardy the Panthers’ pass rush is below average and they looked awful on Monday night.

2. Cam Newton is not healthy

Cam Newton did not look like Cam Newton. He looked as if he was having a hard time moving around and planting with his ankle that is clearly not 100 percent.

Cam Newton didn’t have much time at all to throw the football while getting sacked nine times.
