Stop the presses!  The Eagles bench safety Kurt Coleman in favor of second round pick Nate Allen.  This move could sure up the entire defense.  Nate Allen is the difference maker the Eagles need in the back of their secondary.  Hardly.  I am not a fan of Nate Allen.

Nate Allen is a player I have watched closely.  He has a high profile considering he is the player the Eagles drafted when they got the Redskin’s second round pick for Donovan McNabb.  One week ago I wrote a piece on Allen entitled, “Is Eagles Safety Nate Allen a Disappointment?”  Check it out.

Last year, in his rookie campaign, Nate Allen had some flashes of good play.  Flashes, mind you.  Allen is supposed to be a ball hawk.  I do not see it.  Nate Allen is supposed to be a solid tackler.  Allen missed more tackles that Kurt Coleman did after replacing him against the Giants.

Nate Allen has accumulated one tackle in three games.  One.  I have yet to see him around to defend a pass play.  Everybody knew Eagles benched linebacker, Casey Matthews, could not play.  It was easy to identify him during the course of a game because of his flowing locks.

Keep a close eye on the #29 jersey this Sunday.  See how many times he misses a tackle or gets blown up on a block.  See how many times he makes a play or is even around the ball.

I think Allen has gotten a pass by a lot of fans.  His last name is not Matthews.  Nate Allen needs to make an immediate impact.  Allen needs to know his assignments.  Nate needs to at least make a tackle.
