Everyone is killing Andy Reid, Juan Castillo and Jim Washburn and rightfully so.  Guess what folks?  It is the players that still play the game on the field.  If coaches could, trust me, they would.  This incarnation of the Eagles is squishy, pillowy soft.

Look up and down the Eagles line-up.  There is not one real tough character in the lot.  No one who would stand up, get feisty and go to war.  The Eagles are composed of fast, finesse players who do not like getting their jerseys dirty.  That is why they struggle getting that must needed one or two yards.  As former Eagles linebacker, Jeremiah Trotter says, “there’s no dog in them.”

The offensive line is light and quick.  This offensive line definitely misses a John Runyon.  Jason Peters could be a physical presence, but he rather false start two, three times a game.  That is how Peters rolls.  Undisciplined.

The running backs cannot pound out a tough yard.  LeSean McCoy is terrific, but he cannot move a pile.  Neither can Ronnie Brown.  They are not that type of back.  That is how they roll.  Elusive.

The defense is also light and quick.  The cornerbacks hate sticking their nose in when needed.  The safeties are out of position most of the times anyway, however, if Nate Allen has a chance at laying lumber, he would hesitate.  That is how Allen rolls.  Wimpy.

You know what?  Jason Avant might be the grittiest player on the Eagles.  That says it all right there.
