Flyers Sign 1st Round Pick Couturier to 3-Year Deal

Philadelphia Flyers 1st round pick Sean Couturier impressed in last night’s preseason opener, tallying a goal and an assist. Naturally, Couturier and the Flyers reached an agreement on a 3-year entry level deal on Wednesday.
The signing of Couturier puts the Flyers at 51 contracts, one above the NHL maximum.
Couturier is fighting for a spot on the Flyers roster, today was a big step. Though, it’s still likely that Couturier will return to his junior team, the Drummondville Voltigeurs, once camp breaks.
The future is bright for Couturier; I’m just not sure his future with the Flyers starts this year.
