Coaches Believe Whitney Young Center Jahlil Okafor Will Be Best Pro In 2014

Jahlil Okafor

Guy Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

Recently saw the tweet below and apparently Jahlil Okafor is considered the best future pro in the 2014 class. This does not surprise me; the young center can palm the ball with both hands; he is also a superb passer and can finish with either hand. The combination of Okafor and Tyus Jones at the college level would be devastating.

If it happens, they would be the best package recruiting deal in NCAA history which should not surprise many. Jones and Okafor has developed a close friendship and have even said they would go to college together regardless of basketball. That is a pretty deep bond, and if they do end up going to school together then it will lead to some special things on the court. They will both be in consideration for many of the national player of the year awards, and it should be an interesting race to keep track of. The two players will not begrudge each other any success, but it will be interesting to see if there is any competitiveness between the two of them throughout the year.

They will most likely remain civil as they go through their visits, but it will be interesting to see if they are on opposite teams for any of the All Star games next season. Stay tuned for any updates here at Rant Sports Prep.
