WWE has hit the jackpot as far as championship contenders. Daniel Bryan is set to take care of business when he faces John Cena for the WWE title. That will take place in under two weeks time.

He is the hottest commodity that World Wrestling Entertainment has right now, and the irony of the situation is that not many people predicted he would be here at the current moment. Fans expected that Vince McMahon would have buried him like many of his size before.

Today, we are going to look at three men who I think can take the place of Bryan or Cena and challenge for the most prestigious belt that WWE has. Besides the obvious names like CM Punk and Randy Orton, there is a few other worthy wrestlers on the roster.

Punk will get back in the main event picture due to his recent historic run. After his feud with Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman and Curtis Axel, there will be nothing for Punk to accomplish.

Orton should be self-explanatory at this point. He is carrying the WWE title Money in the Bank briefcase. That almost guarantees that a title in his hands by the time next year rolls around. He could cash it in tomorrow on Smackdown or at WrestleMania — it will happen eventually.

Aside from those two gentlemen, I went through the roster and found those three men I already mentioned. No, it’s not Kofi Kingston, Christian or Rob Van Dam. I can promise this: two out of the three may shock you.

Dean Ambrose

Ambrose is one of those guys that can and will surprise you eventually. The impending success of this man is inevitable. Currently, he is not going anywhere with his direction. The former hot streak of the Shield has fizzled, and the tag-team of Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins will eventually go their separate ways.

That is where the current U.S. champion will shine. He should remain heel while his partners turn face. Then, Ambrose should drop the title to Christian or a mid-card wrestler. Ambrose will proceed to challenge Bryan for the WWE belt. I’m simply dreaming, but it could happen right?

Word is, Punk will win the Rumble and headline Mania against an opponent to be rumored later. So, why not Ambrose for the time being?

Antonio Cesaro

In the previous example, I highlighted an Ambrose/Bryan feud. The IWC would go insane and all of the complaining would finally end. However, only half of the fans will like this one.

Antonio Cesaro is one of the strongest men to ever compete in a wrestling ring. His size may surprise you, but the strength is there. A feud between him and Cena would be incredible. The feats of brute strength these two have shown over the years amaze people and gave the fans something to watch.

If Bryan loses at SummerSlam, give Cesaro a try. The worst he could do is give Cena one of the best matches of his life.

Brock Lesnar

This prediction is a total long shot. Brock Lesnar is about to lose to CM Punk at SummerSlam. It’s a bit obvious at this point. So, why not have him go against Bryan or Cena?

It would work both ways. Bryan would be the ultimate underdog and in no way would he be expected to defeat Lesnar. Cena already wrestled Lesnar last year, but it wasn’t for the belt. They could re-hash a new rivalry and wow the fans once again.
