Report: John Fox Expected to Name Tim Tebow New Starting Quarterback For Broncos on Tuesday
(Ron Chenoy/US PRESSWIRE)

Denver Broncos fans finally got what they wanted when Tim Tebow replaced Kyle Orton in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers. Not only did Tebow spark an offense and nearly pull off what would have been a very impressive come from behind win, but it appears he may finally get a chance at the starting job.

According to a report from Fox Sports, Broncos head coach John Fox is expected to name Tebow the new starting quarterback on Tuesday–which would be no surprise considering his second-half performance against the Chargers on Sunday. After Orton completed just 6 of 13 passes for 34 yards with one interception, Tebow stepped in and rallied the Broncos’ offense by running for a touchdown and throwing for another–even though their comeback fell short in the 29-24 loss.

At this point in the season, there’s really no reason why Fox shouldn’t give Tebow a chance to shine considering Orton has been anything but impressive through the first five weeks. Not only are the Broncos 1-4, but Orton has completed just 58.7 percent of his passes–throwing for 979 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions.

When taking all of this into consideration–why not make it Tebow Time? This was one of the most talked-about quarterback battles during the offseason and now–it looks like Denver fans are finally getting what they’ve fought so hard for with Tebow being named the starting quarterback.

On the bright side, at least Tebow will get a solid two weeks worth of practice before his first game considering Denver has a bye this week before heading to Miami in Week 7 to play the Dolphins.
