Report: Lions DT Ndamukong Suh Expected to Be Suspended At Least Two Games
(Andrew Weber/US PRESSWIRE)

Detroit Lions defensive tackles Ndamukong Suh killed any hope of losing the reputation for being a dirty player on Thanksgiving when he made the poor decision to stomp on the hand of Green Bay Packers’ Evan Dietrich-Smith. Now, it appears the Defensive Rookie of the Year will be suspended by the NFL–mainly because this isn’t the first offense for Suh.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Suh can expect at least a two-game suspension from the NFL for his actions from Thursday’s game against the Packers. Not only did Suh stomp on Dietrich-Smith’s arm in the third quarter, but the replay shows Suh slamming his opponent’s head into the ground numerous times out of frustration right beforehand.

Obviously, this may go down as one of the dirtiest plays from the defensive tackle’s young career and it should be interesting to see what type of impact this has on the Lions over the final five weeks as they look for their first playoff appearance since the 1999 season. At 7-4, Detroit needs all of the help in the world to reach the playoffs and losing Suh is the last thing this team needed–so it’s safe to label him as a dirty and selfish player.
