Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger may be enjoying his time in Hawaii for the 2012 Pro Bowl, but the two-time Super Bowl winner is feeling som frustration after hearing the news of the team parting ways with former offensive coordinator Bruce Arians. Despite the team’s early exit in the playoffs to the Denver Broncos, the Steelers offense ranked 12th overall during the regular season–which is why Roethlisberger is confused and wants answers from the organization.

According to Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk.com, Roethlisberger plans on meeting with team President Art Rooney II when he returns from Hawaii for an explanation on the situation. Roethlisberger believes Arians was developing one of the most elite offenses in the NFL and is dying to find out where the organization sees the offense going in the future.

Here’s what Roethlisberger had to say courtesy of Smith’s article:

“When I get back, I’m going to go up to Mr Rooney’s office and ask him what he wants from me, what he wants from this offense, because I think that’s a viable question for him,” Roethlisberger said. “He’s our owner and our boss, so I really would like to know kind of what he wants and where he sees our offense going because I’d like to tell him where I see us going.”

“We feel like we are really close to being an elite offense,” Roethlisberger said. “For your leader to be gone is kind of a shocker, but you’ve got to be ready for whatever the Rooneys and coach [Mike] Tomlin decide it our next step.”

Arians has been a member of the Steelers coaching staff since 2004 (started off as a wide receivers coach) and took over the duties of offensive coordinator in 2007. Whatever the team’s decision to not bring Arians was, it should be interesting to see how the offense responds to the change in 2012.
