For those of you, like me, that have been waiting since the Super Bowl for football to be back, it is almost here.

The NFL has just released their preseason schedule and announced the nationally televised games and it all starts August 5th. (showed above)

The annual Hall Of Fame Game will take place on August 5th featuring the Arizona Cardinals taking on the controversial New Orleans Saints.

As we all know, these games don’t mean to much. They are less interesting then MLB spring training games at times. The starters play around two quarters at the most in the beginning. Towards the end maybe they play 3 quarters.

The top two games will be the last ones played on Sunday August 26th. The San Francisco 49ers will take on Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos at 4 pm on FOX. Later on at 8pm on NBC, reigning rookie of the year Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers will take on Tim Tebow and the New York Jets, in a game that will feature to of the fastest qb’s in the game. I am hoping that Rex Ryan and the Jets will allow Tebow and Newton to test who is the better scrambler. If I had to guess, go with Newton. He has the arm and the legs to be one of the most successful qb’s in the game.

The world will also be watching to see how heisman trophy winner, Robert Griffin III and expected number one draft pick, Andrew Luck perform for their respective teams. It should be an exciting season.
