Peyton Manning Scheduled to Work out with Titans Tomorrow Morning

Earlier today the star quarterback was in Denver working out with the Broncos. And they were, to say the least, impressed with his performance. ESPN reported Denver Broncos Vice President John Elway tweeted and said that Manning “threw the ball great and looked very comfortable out there”.

My biggest concern here though is exactly that. Two guys like Elway and Manning, in the same city, working and running the same team. Though both are pretty level headed, that is a lot of quarterback, seniority ego in the same franchise. Though I am all for the drama that the switch will do to Tebow fans.

The Cardinals now are reporting to be out of the Manning race as coach Ken Whisenhunt made a comment today that Manning is “no longer an option for the team” according to ESPN. Manning was reported to have outright told Miami that he will be looking elsewhere according to NFL’s Jeff Darlington.

Manning is scheduled to work out with the Tennessee Titans at about 10:45 tomorrow morning according to NFL.com.

But will the Titans offer of a starting position and a position job after his playing time be enough for Manning? He has the roots in Tennessee and could certainly help the Titans. This means though, that Matt Hasselbeck, who has two years left on his contract, will either be released or traded to make room for Manning.

There is no doubt that having a quarterback like Manning would improve Tennessee’s record of 9-7 from last season, and help rookie quarterback, Jake Locker. He is prolonging the signing process, something which Titans owner, Bud Adams, did not think would happen. He was interviewed the other day by the Tennessean and said that he was under the impression that Manning wanted to move quickly.

You never know what a practice will bring. Who knows, by the end of tomorrow, Peyton Manning could be a Titan.
