Now argue against me, but I feel this is a little insane and over the top. It’s been reported by the Titans’ official website (Titansonline.com) that the Tennessee State Legislature has passed a resolution that Peyton Manning should sign with the Tennessee Titans

I have no doubt in my mind that Peyton Manning is a great quarterback. I mean come on, he IS Peyton Manning. But with Hasselbeck and Locker both getting into a great system and have been competing for the starting position, it is screwy to through in a third quarterback. This being said, that Hasselbeck will either get released or traded.

You can read the whole resolution here.

The resolution’s title? “A RESOLUTION relative to a legendary Tennessee quarterback playing for an outstanding Tennessee football team.”

It goes through and basically states everything that Manning has done in his career. It also stated that though he completed all the required courses for his degree, he chose to stay and play his senior year in Tennessee.

The House officially gave approval to the quarterback to sign with the Tennessee Titans in hopes to bring not one but “several NFL championships”.

It states all of Manning’s accomplishments such as his league MVP titles, Pro Bowl appearances and all of his Championships in which he was leading the Indianapolis Colts.

In what other situation has this ever been done? There was always hype about Brett Farve and his “I’m retired-No I’m not” couple of years. But would this be done with any other big time quarterback like Drew Brees or say Tim Tebow?

There is another situation. Argue with me that Hasselbeck is beyond his prime years of playing. Denver is in the same situation. What are they going to do with their beloved Tim Tebow, just throw him on the back burner? You’ll break his little heart.

But it’s a business right, that’s just the way it works. That’s why Tennessee wasn’t able to keep Cortland Finnegan, for reasons still unknown to Titans fans.

Picture this, he signs, with whatever team he does, takes one hard hit and he is out for the rest of the season. Then what do you do? I guess that’s a risk everyone wants to take.

Peyton Manning is expected to make his decision much sooner rather than later. ESPN reported last night they are expected to hear an announcement within the next 48 hours.
