According to 1067 The Fan’s Grant Paulsen, Will Montgomery and the Washington Redskins have agreed on a 4-year contract. Montgomery, 29, was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on March 13th, and both sides obviously wanted to get a deal done.

Montgomery was one of the few durable offensive linemen for Washington last season, playing every snap starting at center, with exception of one game. Will Montgomery, 7th round pick in 2006 by Carolina, found a home at center last season and played well.

Unrestricted free agent, Kory Lichtensteiger will likely be next on the priority list, signing a 1-year tender. The left guard received a raving review from Mike Shanahan last year, calling Kory the best run blocking linemen on the team. Kory was playing at maybe the highest level of his career last season before his unfortunate season ending injury. Though he’s still rehabbing, Kory is expected to be ready for the start of Training Camp.
