High School Football Coach Supposedly Gave His Players His Password for Porn

In Westport, Connecticut an assistant high school football coach has been removed from the school for allegedly supplying some of his players with his password for a porn site.

Here is the link to the video from WTHN News 8:

Coach allegedly gave players access to porno: wtnh.com (Unknown at the time, the coach was identified as Mike Pickering.)

I’m thinking right now may not be the best time to be a football coach.  First, you have the allegations against Jerry Sandusky, the high school coach fired for his locker room rant, a coach in Detroit who dropped an N-Bomb, and now we have Mr. Pickering who is giving kids his porno password.

According to Westport-News.com he turned himself into police:

He turned himself in at 1:30 p.m. Thursday and was formally charged with three counts of risk of injury to a minor. Each charge is a felony. His bond was set at $50,000. He is scheduled to appear Nov. 28 in Norwalk Superior Court.

Someone gave a response to a reporter that I found just laughable. “I mean in light of what just happened with Penn State I’m not entirely surprised, it’s a little shocking that it would happen at a high school level,” said Julian Clarke, “but I just don’t think it’s appropriate what happened.”

How can someone even try to compare this to what is going on at Penn State?  There is a huge difference between giving minors access to porn and forcibly sodomizing them, but maybe that’s just me.

How could Pickering even think this was close to being appropriate to give to kids that are 14 and 15.  I think he got the wrong idea about coaches teaching life lessons.  You teach your players that hard work pays off, not sexual education via online porn.

Also, did the reporter have to interview the guy who looked and sounded like he was stoned who responded like it was no big deal saying, “It’s not the worse thing in the world, but it’s not acceptable.”  He had to have been high to tell the reporter he played offensive line and wide receiver.  I don’t know how they play up in Connecticut but there is no way he could have played WR and OL.
