Disgruntled Pittsburgh Penguins Fan Posts Ad Seeking Missing Defense
Eric Hartline-US PRESSWIRE

It hasn’t been a good week for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Down in their first-round series of the Stanley Cup Playoffs vs. the Philadelphia Flyers 3-0, the Pens are on the brink of elimination at the hands of their in-state rivals in the best of seven series. What’s worse is that the Pens have allowed a whopping 20 goals since the series began just 3 games ago.

In game 1, the Pens jumped out to a 3-0 start in the first period but allowed the Flyers to score 4 unanswered goals to win in overtime by a score of 4-3.

In game 2, the Penguins blew the lead not once, but four times, and the Flyers went on to win 8-5.

In game 3, the Flyers again scored 8 times, rallying once again from a deficit to defeat the Pens by a score of 8-4.

As bleak as things may be for Pens’ fans at the moment, at least one disgruntled fan has a sense of humor about his team’s defensive plight, posting the following ad on Craigslist.

“The defensive skills of the Pittsburgh Penguins have been missing since Wednesday, April 11th,” the ad reads. “If you have seen the defense or have any idea of where it could be located, please give a head’s up [sic] to the team IMMEDIATELY.

Thank you in advance!”

The series between the in-state rivals has certainly been filled with drama, as the two teams threw fists last night in a fight that was impressive even by hockey standards.

Though tongue-in-check, the Craigslist ad is right; the Penguins must find their missing defense, and soon, as they stare into the face of elimination in Game 5 this Wednesday night on the road in Philadelphia.

After all, it’s bad enough to be swept by any team; it’s that much worse when you have to share the same state with them.
