2013 Fantasy Football: Draft WR Demaryius Thomas Early

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

If there is one offense that is set to explode during the 2013 fantasy football season it has to be the Denver Broncos.

The team led by QB Peyton Manning has a combination of three of the most talented wideouts in football, including Eric Decker, Demaryius Thomas, and the newly acquired Wes Welker.

However, if left to choose one that would have the biggest fantasy performance next year, I would easily choose Thomas.

Thomas hauled in 94 balls for 1,434 yards and 10 touchdowns during his first season with Manning. Thomas was an amazing downfield weapon for the four-time MVP to throw to and the duo formed a quick rapport on the field.

Thomas was constantly running vertical routes last year. His natural size helped him gain position over opposing defensive backs and Thomas has matured into one of the most physical receivers in the league. DT can match up against any corner in the league and out work them to the ball. He has truly become an elite fantasy receiver.

Also the addition of Welker will only give Thomas more room to work downfield. The extra attention that Decker and Welker will draw underneath will allow Thomas more one-on-one coverage on the outside. The added weapons around him will only give Thomas more chances to haul in touchdowns, so 2013 could easily be a career season for the wideout.

Thomas has really come into his own and has proved that he can be a reliable number one fantasy wideout. Expect Thomas to easily end up with 1,500 yards and 10-plus touchdowns next season.
