2013 Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Add Hampus Lindholm In Dynasty Leagues

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

This season has seen numerous defenders start to have a major impact for fantasy hockey owners. Every team seems to have at least one defender with double-digit points and fantasy owners have enjoyed the sudden scoring explosion from behind the blueline.

Another one of these offensive-minded defenders that is starting to heat up for fantasy owners is Hampus Lindholm of the Anaheim Ducks.

The Swedish defenseman spent some time in the AHL earlier this year, but his play since being promoted has kept him around. He has racked up seven points on the year, including two goals and five helpers in 24 games. More importantly, the defender has added five points (two goals/three assists) in the 12 games this month alone.

One thing keeping Lindholm on the top defensive lines has been his aggressiveness. He has been firing the puck as much as possible and has shown that he isn’t afraid to make a run into the offensive zone. He has ripped off 49 shots on the year (2.02 shots/game) and has shown that he can do more than defend.

Lindholm is only owned in 37% of CBS leagues and will be a great pick up for anyone looking to add some youth at the back end of their lineup. The teenager is a defender worth locking up in any type of dynasty format.
