Tony Romo Fantasy Football Week 8 Projection

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has experienced an inevitable fantasy resurgence thanks to the plethora of weapons he has around him in DeMarco Murray, Dez Bryant, Jason Witten and Terrance Williams.

For the fifth consecutive week, Romo has thrown for multiple touchdown passes and jumped into the league’s most valuable player talk. Fantasy owners must be very happy after it seemed like No. 9 was destined for a game manager role with the Cowboys’ permanent commitment to the running game.

Amidst the team’s six-game winning streak, Romo has been able to prove that he can share the spotlight with Murray and is reaching must-start territory for Week 8 and beyond.

This week on ESPN’s Monday Night Football, Romo and the Cowboys welcome the Washington Redskins to AT&T Stadium in an NFC East divisional matchup. The Redskins are allowing the most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks, and there’s no reason to think that Romo won’t deliver another strong performance in Week 8.

The Cowboys’ offense is firing on all cylinders, and the Redskins just lost their best pass rusher Brian Orakpo for the rest of the season to a torn pectoral muscle. Expect to see a blowout in Dallas. I just don’t see how Washington will generate pressure on the quarterback, and they’re definitely going to have to load up eight in the box in an attempt to shut down Murray.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot that the inept Colt McCoy will be starting for the Redskins in place of the injured Robert Griffin III. This means that Romo and the offense will have several possessions to work with as Washington will struggle to get anything going at all.

Fantasy owners will absolutely be “starstruck” after No. 9′s lights-out performance Monday night. See what I did there?

Kyle’s Bold Prediction: 24-for-29, 302 yards, three touchdowns, six rushing yards.
