A source told MLB.com that the Houston Astros are planning to call up left-handed pitcher Dallas Keuchel and right handed pitcher Jordan Lyles. No mention of the corresponding moves that are to follow though.

Keuchel has been up with the team once already this season, and it sounds as if he is headed back. Lyles, however, was expected to be in the Astros starting rotation to start the year, but after a horrible Spring Training the Astros sent him down to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The expectations were high Lyles when he first came into the league, but after a bad year last season, fans have seemed to turn on the young right-hander. I’m not sure why though. Yes, he hasn’t been what he was expected to become, but he is only 22 years old. How can you give up on a guy that young? I am not sure. Anyways, Lyles is on his way up to the major-league club, and hopefully he is there to stay.

No one, but the organization I’m sure, knows who will be sent down, but I am almost sure Brad Peacock will be sent down. Peacock has had a terrible go of it so far this season and has already been sentenced to the bullpen. Another reason why I believe it will be Peacock is because this news broke after he had a bad outing out of the pen tonight. However, I am not sure who will be the another person sent down. If it is Paul Clemens, I may be a little upset. In case you guys don’t know, I am a bit of a Clemens fan.

The starter for Thursday’s game has yet to be announced. It was supposed to be Peacock, but once he went to the bullpen, his starter’s role opened up. With both of these guys coming up, either one of them could find themselves in the starting rotation. Maybe both of them. Only time will tell.
